7 Fall Bucket List Ideas

Warm apple cider and a fleece blanket are my go-to fall favorites! But if you're worried about missing the small window of colorful trees, here is my Fall 2018 MUST DO list!

1. Host a bonfire with s'mores! Don't let winter creep in too soon! The weather is still nice enough to be outside - without the risk of snow. The crisp autumn air will be soon forgotten after you down a couple s'mores.

2. Attend a football game! If you're worried about cost, this doesn't have to be a pro-football game. You're local high school or state team will appreciate you rooting for them too! Tailgate beforehand to show your team spirit. The smell of brats on a grill will warm your heart. Trust me.

3. Take a scenic drive! I have memories of driving through the country side with my mom to admire all of the fall colors. She'd always bring a thermos of warm apple cider along for the ride - as well as warm snickerdoodle cookies. As I grew up, apple cider turned into our favorite Pumpkin Spiced Lattes from Starbucks. But you get the idea. Taking time to slow down and admire the scenery ensure we enjoyed ever minute of autumn!

4. Decorate! Your front porch needs more than a few pumpkins. Add a fall wreath, a few hay bales, colorful mums, and a welcome mat for the season. Decorate inside too with warm blankets, a cute autumn sign... and don't forget to change your Glade Plug In! Glad has a limited edition scents called "Cozy Autumn Cuddle" and "Cozy Cider Sipping".

5. Bake an apple pie! Woah! Slow down Betty Crocker! Your pie doesn't have to be completely made from scratch. You can use a puff pastry crust from the refrigerated section of your local grocery store - don't forget to toss a can of apple pie filling in your cart too! If you're looking for something already made, I'm sure the local bakery has plenty of pies for the choosing. Pssssttt... Don't forget to ask for a pie you can take home and bake!

6. Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch! Picking a basket of apples at your local orchard. Or drive to your local pumpkin patch (like The Little Farmer in Malone, WI) for a full autumn experience! With homemade apple cider, pies galore, a caramel apple station, and tractor rides - your weekend will be full of memories!

7. Halloween Costume! Get your kid's costumes ready a head of time - so there's not a last minute scramble. And don't forget to find a costume for yourself too! You're costume will be appreciated as you hand out halloween candy (one of my all time favorite fall activities). Don't have kids to trick-or-treating with? No worries! Find a local halloween event to show off your fabulous costume!
